My face produces so much oil, how do I prevent it?

My face is extremely oily, and frankly I am tired of it. I also get acne along with it, which is being treated by my dermatologist. But I forgot to ask him one question while I was there, how do I prevent my face from becoming so oily AFTER and BEFORE I use my acne medicine. I can’t see him until next month, I know this isn’t a long time, but I have a special violin concert coming up, and I will be there all day, while my face is getting oily. It also affects my hair, My side bang becomes all greasy from the oil produced from my face.

I am really desperate for answers, anything natural, OTC, or anything not too expensive that I can use as a temporary fix until I see my dermatologist? Please help!

You are young, I am not. I have had extremely oily skin with horrible acne since I was young.

It is genetics. I got it from my father. My sister got her glorious skin from my mom.

It doesn’t have anything to do with what you eat, either.

I don’t know of a *quick fix* right now but I suggest you look into Mary Kay Cosmetics. Why? Because they have the BEST. I have used Neutregena (sp?) Oil of Olay, Clearasil, EVERY OTC for oily skin, acne & make up.

NONE worked. NONE. I spend thousands on these products that blocked my pours, dried out my skin & caused more severe breakouts.

I started using MK about 2 months ago. I use all of their products targeted for oily skin AND aging skin. I don’t care how young you are: your skin is aging.

Yes, the products are expensive. But the thing is you use so little of it. One little bottle of moisturizing serum for oily skin? I have had it 2 months and have only used 1/4 of the bottle.

The cleansing products? Absolutely fantastic. Now they have come out with a line of products targeted for acne & oily skin.
