Help with this cake please?

I'm having my sweet 16 birthday party on the same day as my little brother was having his 13th birthday party. My mom wants us to have the same cake. Half decorated for me and half for him. I'm in charge of figuring out the design for the cake. We are doing it ourselves so it can not be too hard but I am pretty good with a subtle design. My favorite color is red little sister and she likes Van Halen's guitar idea. I'm going with blue and butterflies. We both like obsessed with music. (I play violin but there's no way I put that on a cake. grainy) Idea's please?

I'd go with a sheet cake. Maybe there are some ways you can sort of combine the two designs so they overlap. You are the same in music, so maybe make that the main design, and then there are notes coming off the stringed instrument in the shape of butterflies. You can do The trim in either red or blue.
