violin problem,….notes dont sound right? what am i doing wrong?

ok i have been playing with my violin getting to know it better and i notice when i try to play any note on the G string it sounds like….i dont know maybe like sawing through wood or somthing close to that and it happens when i try out some other notes on other strings
i am new and havent started lessons yet, so can anyone tell me what i might be doing wrong OR things i am NOT suppose to do on the strings. thnx!

Someytimes it is the quality of the violin.
Make sure it is in tune.
Do you know what the bridge is?? It is the thin wooden thing that is where the strings peak after passing over the finger board.
Try to play between there and the end of the fingerboard. Experiment with where you get the best sound.
Practise getting the bow to go in a straight line – it is harder than it sounds.
Try this:
Start from the frog (The end of the bow where your hand is) and just play an open string loudly and use the whole bow. Retake the bow and start from the frog again.
