v = (l-n) (f-n)
f-n = v/(l-n)

On a string pinned at both ends, a standing wave must have an integral number of half-wavelengths span the length of the string (L): So
(n/2) (l-n) = L, so
l-n = 2L/n

Therefore
f-n = v/(l-n) = v/(2L/n) = nv/(2L) = n (v/2L)

So:
f-n = n (v/2L)
